Three Years Later... (Has it really been that long?)

And it is as rainy today as it was then. Wow, the timing is everything. Here's to another [insert number] years of glorious thoughts, food (basically cake), old fashioned things, and *bizarre youtube videos

*May or may not induce nightmares.

Thoughts on a Friday

-Earth Day!
-My my, this is what I was thinking nearly a year ago today.
-And it was Earth Day that Friday, too.
-Time does fly.
-Earth Day should be everyday.
-War Horse.
-Finally saw the movie version last Sunday, and it was so lovely and moving.
-Makes me want my own horse.
-And to live on a farm.
-But it also made me think of WW1, and what both men and horses had to go through.
-Sad.
-So I hear the Doctor Who cast currently shooting in NY.
-Or was, as of last week.
-That stirs up the butterflies in my gut because they are so close, and yet so far!
-Arrgh.
-I need my Doctor Who fix.
-I also need to visit New York again.
-I guess I'll have to tide it over with... Downton Abbey.
-And I'd thought I could never get into that show.
-It's like a drug.
-Well, not really.
-"My own personal brand of heroine".
-Oh no, not that line again.
-Aside from it's lovely costumes and setting, what the heck is its appeal???
-My guess would be the men on the show.
-Bought my first ever red lipstick!
-How pleased I am.
-I've never worn red (lipstick) before.
-A donut would be loverly right now.
-I need to catch up on Mad Men.
-A sleepy pup lays at my feet. And he's dreaming.
-Why do perfume commercials have to be so... Bad?

Career studies

I like thinking about the possibility of different careers I could go into. Some are probably well beyond my reach, (or maybe not) , but I can imagine going into some fields that I like.
So, I listed them here:
*Mathematician, dentistry or astrophysicist not included.

-Costume designer for movies or plays. If I could draw (or sew, for that matter), I could settle for this kind of work.

-Cake decorator. Or pastry chef.

-An absurdist playwright--like Samuel Beckett.

-Or, an absurdist poet, like Gertrude Stein. That would be fun: heavy are the shoes that wear the feet. Like a table like a hat. Cake is a losing salad. Although, the likelihood of my content being published is not so very likely.

-A film historian; I find all the stuff on old Hollywood so very fascinating. (Fact: in addition to fearing the police, Alfred Hitchcock also had a phobia of eggs)

-A screen writer. Featuring crazy absurdist themes, food, and questions that can only sound as if they came from Lost.

-An author, which is a likely possibility.

-A ballet dancer (if I had the stamina and flexibility). Or dance teacher (like tap!).

ballerina, ballet, beautiful, beauty, black swan, dance

-A magazine writer (another possibility)

-And finally, I think I would be a professor. I had some really inspiring theatre professors throughout university, and if I could chose any kind of teaching career, it would be theatre at university.

And perhaps one day, the unthinkable will happen when I will take a dramatic career change, and take the plunge to one of the options above.

Ta-da!

Thoughts on a Sunday Evening

My current cake of choice at the moment.

-Dewey Decimal System.
-I'll need to learn it.
-I have a job opportunity as a page on the horizon.
-But I need to get through the interview first.
-I don't think I've laughed so hard at a music video since.... I don't know when.
-When I found it, I was on a roll looking through 90s music videos.
-LITTLE PIG LITTLE PIG LET ME IIIIN! Not by the hairs of our chini chin chins!
-Sorry, I had to quote it.
-I'll be saying that line to myself for a long time now.
-And now you will too.
-I wish I had a squiggly text to fit the tone of the words.
-Green Jello.
-What an interesting name for a rock band.
-Can you believe someone built these once??
-If you aren't turned off by them, they are in fact pretty neat.
-And cleverly built.
-Reminds me of Hugo.
-This is what got me intrigued in the first place.
-There's a Boy in the Girl's Bathroom.
-That was a funny book.
-Bradley CHALKERS.
-What a name.
-Never name your kid Bradley, or he may turn out rogue.
-Tales of the Fourth Grade Nothing.
-Oh, that Fudge.
-Another rogue child.
-And Rogue, for some reason, is my word of the day.

Gives me a lovely case of the goosebumps.

Thoughts on a Friday going into the Easter Weekend

-I love how my Friday Thoughts coincide with holiday weekends.
-Then again, why shouldn't they?
-My blog has a purpose, after all!
-Consisting of food, dogs, and weird youtube videos.
-Maybe a combination of the three.
-And maybe the odd random poem.
-But nice poems.
-Oh, and thoughts.
-Continuing on and on into oblivion.
-Eggs.
-Chocolate.
-Ireland.
-Where did that come from?
-I need to meet an Irish hunk.
-Pff.
-I need to go to Ireland first.
-But it's a nice thought.
-Did you ever notice the starry symbol on your cadbury egg?
-I don't know much about it.
-I think I heard it talked about on a radio show once.
-What is it?
-If there is answer out there, do inform me, because I simply can't be bothered going on to google for it.
-It's alarming how much my life relates to this tumblr.
-This is certainly true.
-Baking these today.
-Preview tomorrow.
-No recipe necessary.
-Titanic.
-I could write a post about that.
-The survivor's stories are remarkable, especially this lady's, just as of late.
-As are the items that have been recovered, and remarkably preserved.
-Is it right or wrong to disturb those things?
-Hmm.
-Makes you think!
-The 100 year anniversary is coming up, but did you know there was an Australian equivalent that occurred a month earlier? I didn't either.
-Bake time.
-Gimme some sugah, I am yo neighbah!

April Rain

It is not raining rain for me,
It’s raining daffodils;
In every dimpled drop I see
Wild flowers on the hills.

The clouds of gray engulf the day
And overwhelm the town;
It is not raining rain to me,
It’s raining roses down.

It is not raining rain to me,
But fields of clover bloom,
Where any buccaneering bee
Can find a bed and room.

A health unto the happy,
A fig for him who frets!
It is not raining rain to me,
It’s raining violets.

Robert Loveman

*It's rare that I post poetry on here, but I thought this was too nice to not share.

A lovely way to describe a blog

“There’s something sacred about reading a blog post on someone else’s site. It’s like visiting a friend’s house for a quick meal ’round the breakfast table. It’s personal — you’re in their space, and the environment is uniquely suited for idea exchange and uninterrupted conversation. In many ways, we should be treating our blogs like our breakfast tables. Be welcoming & gracious when you host, and kind & respectful when visiting.” – Trent Walton
