Sunday Showdown

To make up for lost thoughts a la Friday, here's what I have had to think about this weekend.

-"Sulu, look; the sun's come out!"
-The most useful Star Trek quote I find.
-That, and "credits to navy beans", although considerably lesser known.
-Actually, it looks like it could rain. Again.
-I still find myself wishing I had a cat.
-People ask why on earth I'd want a cat, and I say 'just because'.
-Maru makes me want my own cat.
-And living in my own place.
-The other day I was on youtube and I found myself watching this creepy Japanese show featuring various characters' experiences with ghosts, possibly urban legends.
-Once I found them, I couldn't stop watching them, despite the language barrier. Some were weird, but never the less creepy. One involved a girl being chased by a disembodied head.
-That would scare anyone.
-Good thing I can't find them today!
-The job hunt continues.
-Well if I can't get a job in the next while, I shall continue working towards getting my drivers license.
-I wonder if things really do happen for a reason?
-Are certain things destined to be?
-That would make an interesting post.
-One step closer to independence!
-The thought's exciting, yet a bit nerve racking.
-I think I ate too much at dinner last night.
-Still felt the effects of it this morning, but I'm back to my usual ravenous self this afternoon.
-I hear someone whistling... Likely one of our annoying neighbors.
-I keep thinking I hear a bee buzzing around, but I think it's the booming voice off someone's tv a few doors down.
-Exclamation point!
-How I love to use that in my vocabulary.

Have a happy Sunday!

-So long, and thanks for all the fish! So sad that it should come to this. We tried to warn you all, but oh deeeear.....
-That's from Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy. I started watching it last weekend thanks to this song, but got sidetracked by another movie.
-It's really catchy, but in a good way.
-You may not share out intellect, which may explain your disrespect, for all the natural wonders that grow around you, so long so long! and thanks for all the fiiiiiish.
-Oh dolphins, I hope to swim with some of you one day before you all fly off into space.
-Which brings to mind... Is it fact that Judgement Day is upon us tomorrow?
-What the eff happened to all the 2012 hype??!
-Feh, I'll just be doing tomorrow whatever it is I'll be doing.
-That being grocery shopping.
-Oooh lala, currently hearing Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture on the radio.
-Epic by itself, even without the influence of V For Vendetta.
-Gives me shivers! Especially with the cannons firing.
-I love underwater images, so shimmery and beautiful.
-I seem to be in an underwater picture kind of mood today.
-Which makes me long to go swimming.
-Pity that our pool heater is broken, thanks to mice that made a nest in it during the winter.
-Last weekend's episode of Doctor Who was awesome.
-Can't wait to see what will happen this weekend!
-After nearly a week of straight rain, Mr. Sun finally decided to grace us with his presence.
-According to whoever, in the entire month of May thus far we have gotten about 9 hours of sunshine.
-It's a great day for being single. Hooray!
-For one final thought, it's ridiculous how quickly situations can turn on a dime. It happened for me earlier this week; my situation was (and still is somewhat) troubling, but I am confident it can be fixed and that I can carry on to what I need to do.

Enjoy the weekend!

Thoughts on a late Friday afternoon

Tumblr_ljjnsjjzmk1qadltho1_500_large
Paul the hipster

-My my, it was a little dull around here for the past 20 hours, no?
-Happy Friday!
-So much for my attempt at a home-made iced coffee drink. Not that it was bad or anything, just not great.
-I'll stick with Tim's or Starbucks; after all, their drinks are special.
-Not to mention they dallop on the whipped cream best!
-Earlier this week, I was staying with my aunt and uncle's kids while they jetted off to Vegas for a few days.
-I don't think I've been asked/forced to tell so many 'funny stories' in my life.
-That was my pre-teen cousin being devious.
-And bored.
-More often than not, I couldn't think of one on the spot when she asked me.
-"Have any funny stories?"
-"Uhh...*pausing to think, but not really*... No".
-Friday the 13th; I think this had something to do blogger's blackout.
-Sneaky, you other-worldly force; very sneaky.
-So far, I've been having an average day.
-Which is good.
-Oooh, thunderstorms this evening!
-I used to hate them when I was a kid.
-I have this foggy memory of being in my crib during a thunderstorm one night and crying my eyes out til my Mom came in.
-I have this other memory of being awake during a storm when I was still young (possibly in my crib?), and putting my pillow over my head and facing the wall.
-Then I remember waking up in the morning to see that it was sunny outside.
-Funny how memory works like that.
-I love getting those days of sun that go on for a number of days until finally broken by a day or so of rain.
-The weekend ahead looks pleasant.
-Rain.
-A dinner out tomorrow night is in the works.
-Finding this clip earlier in the week made me nostalgic.
-Odd time to be thinking about Halloween costumes.
-I have a few ideas in the works, though.
-Still watching the eaglets.
-Can hear them sqeeing for food.
-They're growing up so darn fast! Part of me wishes they could stay young forever, but I'm glad to see them maturing so well.
-And soon enough they'll be flying...

Enjoy the weekend! Eat junk food, watch movies, sleep in. I know I will be!

I love Clark Gable and Claudette Colbert in this scene. That is all.

-"The Doctor seems reluctant to discuss his medical experiences." "Well, medically, my experiences have been most unexciting. Except during the flu epidemic." "Ah, and what happened?" "I got the flu".
-Groucho Marx, from A Day at the Races.
-I never realized how funny the Marx Brothers actually are.
-According to IMDB, after Groucho's death his kids found a gag letter written him stating that he wanted to be buried on top of Marilyn Monroe.
-That made me laugh. A lot.
-My gramps, the corn-ball he was, used to have a disguise toy of fake glasses with a big nose (and possibly a mustache, but it must have come off) modeled off Groucho Marx.
-I never knew who it was based off of, of course, but it was a lot of fun to wear.
-Although the nose sort of stank.
-If I ever come across this (and I did at one point), I will definitely get it in my gramps and Groucho's honour!
-The Royal Wedding was a week ago, and it feels so faraway with all the news that has made headlines this week.
-I wonder what miss Kate (or Catherine, if you like to be formal) is up to a week later and married?
-Speaking of news (relative to Canada, that is), what in the heck was up with the election results??!!
-I am not normally one to express my views on politics here, but I will do it with as much discretion as possible and say CANADA, SERIOUSLY; WAKE UP AND SMELL THE TIM HORTONS COFFEE.
-Weather forecast: cool, with a chance of showers.
-Pool opened the other day, but I probably won't be swimming until June.
*Sigh*
-Yesterday I was sitting on the porch with my camera in hand, and a dove was nearby on the ground. The doves are not really timid because they know who hands out the birdseed (that being my Mom), but one flew onto the edge of the birdbath and was willing to pose for me.
-Naturally, I took a snapshot.
-The outcome was not too bad at all.
-I would have rather gotten a picture of a cardinal on the bird feeder because they're more striking, but no such luck.
-I should be a bird photographer.
-The doves like our porch.
-My Mom doesn't like it that they like our porch because they have a tendency to poop everywhere, including on the chairs.
-What a great segue to lead into the subject of Mothers Day this weekend!
-I'd say breakfast in bed is a possibility for her, along with a special present or two.
-Now it's raining.

Have a lovely weekend! Be sure to treat Mom like a Queen!

This is what has been taking up my spare time

decorah eagles live stream

The eagles are now a few weeks older than they are in this pic (and there are three of them), but watching the live stream camera on them is totally addictive, because they are absolutely endearing!
