-This post may consist mainly of the newly married couple.
-I was up at 5.30 to watch the Royal Wedding; no complaints here, other than that the day feels as if its going longer than usual.
-Kate was beautiful! I'm so happy for her and William, and I truly hope they live long and happy lives together.
-Honestly, it was perfect.
-What I would give to be in England at this moment.
-My favourite moment (other than the double kiss!) was the times when Kate smiled a bit whenever she heard the crowd roar outside during the taking of their vows.
-This wedding makes me long for my own one day!
-Brings back memories of last summer.
-I'm also glad the whole wedding speculations will be finally done after today.
-Well, maybe after tomorrow.
-My shipping boxes made it safely home this afternoon from Halifax.
-I won't be unpacking them any time soon, though, hehehe.
-I have so much chocolate around me, and all I would like to do is eat it.
-But no! Must refrain!
-However, the Lindt Lindor dark peppermint truffles (leftover from Christmas, believe it or not) make it more difficult.
-Speaking of junk food and of Christmas leftovers, I finally got around to having a few scoops of the PC Candy Cane ice cream last night.
-I've been waiting soooo long to have it.
-I also gave my room its annual purge of stuff collected over the past years.
-My desk is now clean...er.
-I wish I had a bookshelf in my room.
-But alas, no such space for it!
-Where be the sun?
-My plans for the afternoon are to sift through magazines and an Agatha Christie novel.
-Now that school's done, I actually have time to read!
-This has been around on youtube for awhile, but I've forgotten how good this video actually is.
-If it were real, I'd see it.

Have an excellent weekend!

Arrivederci, Dal!

Well, not quite yet, as I need to return to graduate; right now, I'm easing into life back at home, and trying to figure out what comes next. In the meantime, I shall take you through pictures I took over the years of my various living locations around campus. Some of these I haven't looked at in a while, so this is quite the nostalgia trip for me! Starting with...

First year. Not too shabby for a dorm room.

What a lovely view from my window! Nothing like... Construction work.

Room number two, from second year. Much more spacious. There also used to be a fireplace in the room, but they plastered it up and painted it. Darn.

On to year three... A new house! Off campus!

And finally, year four: same house, new room, and more excitement. My favourite room by far.

I would have taken a picture of my empty room after I finished packing up my stuff last week, but it was too emotionally trying for me. Ha ha ha, just joking; I had just forgotten about it. But of course it was (and still is) pretty sad having to leave my home in Halifax. But I will be back later in May for grad, and I will take as many pictures as possible (in both Halifax and elsewhere in NS because I'll be travelling with the folks!), and will definitely share my favourites here!

Until tomorrow... Ciao!

F for Friday (and freedom)

-So this is what freedom feels like.
-Four years of university done.
-Whatever comes next?
-Gelato would excellent right now.
-However, I'm busying myself with packing up all my stuff.
-It's Earth Day; my contribution will be recycling and re-using.
-I can't stop looking at the picture above.
-So tantalizing.
-I wonder how many boxes I will actually use.
-I also wonder how fast it will take me to pack up my room.
-Depends on when I'm finished using these items.
-It also depends on the impending day of moving.
-Argh.
-*gasp* baby eagles have hatched!
-For the past week when I avoided studying, I've turned to watching eagles' nests for mindless entertainment. All from here.
-So sweet looking.
-How do Mama eagles just know about building their nests and taking care of their babes?
-Ahh, the beauty of nature.
-I was debating whether to bake something this weekend to take home.
-Probably won't have time, but it may yet happen.
-It's amazing how heavy books can get when you put a bunch of them in one box.
-Which is why you should disperse them among your boxes.
-Lovin' this song right now.
-I should be packing, but I have lost all motivation at this moment.
-What a sweet post from A Cup of Jo.
-Looking across my room, it looks like I haven't made any progress except in my bookshelf.
-Yet I have put together and packed about 5 boxes since last night.
*Yawns*
-Take a yawn and pass it on.
-Doctor Who this Saturday!

Have a wonderful Easter Weekend! Mine will be celebrated next weekend when I'm home :)

Tuesday, April 19, 2011

When you get those rare moments of clarity, those flashes when the universe makes sense, you try desperately to hold on to them. They are the life boats for the darker times, when the vastness of it all, the incomprehensible nature of life is completely illusive. So the question becomes, or should have been all a long... What would you do if you knew you only had one day, or one week, or one month to live. What life boat would you grab on to? What secret would you tell? What band would you see? What person would you declare your love to? What wish would you fulfil? What exotic locale would you fly to for coffee? What book would you write?

Friday Roundup

Tumblr_kuf33inhak1qzdvhio1_r1_400_large
-School's over, yet here I am still writing an essay.
-Ugh.
-Then one last exam next Thursday.
-And then there were two.
-I'll be going home a week Monday. Craziness.
-Where has the school year gone?
-Haha... Wow, this kid is awesome.
-I'd do it, but the only thing that holds me back is looking like an idiot.
-Maru. Can't. stop. watching.
-What is wrong with me? I'm supposed to be writing a paper!!
-"So you wanna go to a real party?" (Jack Dawson, Titanic)
-Yes please!
-I'm ready to go back home, but I don't want to go home.
-So lovely looking outside.
-An iced caramel coretto from Second Cup earlier this week was the best decision I made.
-How I shall miss Halifax.
-Where else would I be able to go that's in walking distance of everything that's not Halifax??
-Toronto?? Heavens, no!
-I'll have to earn my license to go around Toronto.
-Oh, Toronto.
-Reminds me that I watched Score, A Hockey Musical this week as well.
-I think it's a definite sign I'm going home soon.
-How many boxes will it take to pack up all my stuff?
-Two roommates gone=a considerably more quiet house.
-Alas, I should continue with my school work. Have to finish it sooner or later...
Ciao!

Paul+mccartney+perfection_large

I found this pic a while back, but I love it. It looks to be one of those rare peaceful moments for Paul when he could actually take it easy in between his band's touring, and watch the view go by.

I hope to be back next Friday with my weekly round of thoughts and stuff, in between studying and/or packing my stuff up to go home. I like doing that every Friday; gives me something to look forward to. But in the meantime...

Reflections on a Friday

Tumblr_lgo8oggwqc1qagwh5o1_500_large
-Yay for weekends!
-Nay for essays due in less than a week.
-Oh, it's April.
-Last Sunday was the best dance show I've been apart of.
-Can't believe its over.
-But it was so much fun.
-"I DON'T KNOW WHAT WE'RE YELLING ABOUT".
-Cats vs dogs: who will you vote for??
-"LOOOUD NOISES".
-Ron Burgundy this weekend? I think so.
-"Brick, where did you get a trident?"
-"I don't know".
-Yesterday I had my first iced coffee to celebrate the warm weather.
-I also had my last speaking presentation for one of my classes.
-Yay!
-I think it went alright, although I have a tendency to fumble my words.
-"It is only after we have lost everything that we are free to do anything".
-So says the writing on the desk I am at.
-How... Deep.
-I wish I were better at writing poetry.
-For those who can, don't ever lose that gift! It is a glorious one.
-Just a few more weeks of school.
-Then that's it.
-Packing. So much. When to start?
-Then possibly more schooling when I'm back home.
-A time to kick ass and take names.
-I've been thinking about that saying all week for some reason.
-Dear future self: Where are you now? What are you doing? (hypothetical question, no future responses necessary.)
-New DW series 6 trailer: my mind went kaboom.
-Please come to Canada soon.
-Ooh, the Doctor gets a smooch from River...
-I think I have a new cookie recipe in the works.
-Possibly coming soon.
-After this weekend, I will be a new shade of blonde.
-I'm excited.

Pennies for your thoughts? Spill em. Have a great weekend!
